Exhibition statement:
The exhibition is annually well attended by locals as well as art enthusiasts from greater Melbourne who come to purchase artworks.
All works in the Adult award section are contributed by the current Arts Society members. In 2014 the NextGen award section was introduced. This was specifically created to encourage arts participation from aspiring young artists.
The winners are judged by a different artist of note each year. Most of the art exhibited is available for sale with a commission payable to the Arts Society.
Collective statement:
This year we had over 200 entrants comprising Adult and NextGen (Under 20) artists.
We were delighted that Jack Kowarzik, former mayor of Cardinia Shire Council and longtime supporter of the Emerald Arts Society agreed to open the exhibition which was attended by many excited artists, with family and friends. We are grateful to the Shire for their continued support of this event over many years.
We are grateful to all the artists who entered the show and provided us with such a wonderful display of artwork. Also, a big vote of thanks to all our sponsors whose ongoing contributions allow us to offer a huge range of prizes to our aspiring artists.
