Exhibition statement:
The innovative Grow exhibition weaves together the past and future of farming. Featuring photographs of farmers based in Cardinia Shire that capture the current triumphs in agriculture, this is complemented by imaginative artworks created by young people that envision the future of farming. Collectively, the display offers a visually compelling narrative that bridges the present and future of this vital industry.
This exhibition is on display at Cardinia Cultural Centre for several weeks to reach a broad audience and serve as a catalyst of thought-provoking conversation. Nathan Younghusband, photographer and videographer for the project, reflected on the importance of visual storytelling in this industry.
“Considering the rich diversity of the agricultural industry in Cardinia Shire, it is crucial to honour the hardworking individuals who contribute to our community and extend their impact beyond its borders,” Nathan said.
Local multidisciplinary artist Clinton Plowman facilitated art workshops throughout the shire to help young people capture the essence of this vital industry with a creative lens.
“Nurturing the imaginative minds of our youth to invent creative solutions to modern problems within the agricultural sector was a fun and intriguing challenge,” Clinton said.
Come and see this exhibition to immerse yourself in this exciting agricultural snapshot.
The Grow Exhibition is being delivered as part of Cardinia Shire Council’s Futureproofing Farming Project, in partnership with VicHealth.
