Winterfest Workshop: Weaving for Kids

With Emmy Webbers

With Emmy Webbers

Introduce your children to the world of artistic expression at our Kids’ Weaving Workshop! Led by First Nations artist Emmy Webbers of Wurruck Yambo, this workshop is designed for young minds to learn the fundamentals of weaving.

Through structured guidance, children will experiment with different textures, patterns, and vibrant colors, creating their own unique woven artworks.

Join us for an enriching experience where creativity meets skill development, providing your child with a tangible sense of accomplishment and a newfound appreciation for the art of weaving.

Emmy was born and raised within the Kulin Nations of Victoria predominately on Bunurong and Wurundjeri Countries.

Every piece Emmy creates is inspired by their culture in some way, either from being on Country and the incredible visuals and feelings it creates, or through their children, seeing how they interact with their culture.

Connect, create, learn, discover, share, imagine.

The Winterfest Kids’ Art Workshops are designed to give kids the opportunity to be creative in a supportive and facilitated environment over the school holidays.

These workshops will help to build motor skills, encourage creative play, and strengthen to bond between child and caregiver.

Given the nature of these workshops, it is recommended to wear clothes that can get messy.

Suitable for children 5 – 12 years.
