Exhibition Statement:
Typography serves as both a visual language and an expressive craft—an artform concerned with arranging type to make written communication legible, readable, and aesthetically compelling. Language itself is a fundamental tool for thinking, understanding, and sharing knowledge, offering insight into culture, history, and the structures that shape human thought.

In this body of work, Sheldrake deconstructs traditional letterforms, using layered brushstrokes to abstract font and language into a visual experience. Through this process of fragmentation and reconstruction, he transforms written symbols into movement, texture, and emotion—breaking through linguistic barriers and inviting viewers to engage with communication in a new, universal form.
