The Cardinian Embroidery depicts the townships of Cardinia Shire and is on display permanently at Cardinia Cultural Centre down the hall from the Gallery. The Cardinian Embroidery consists of 8 panels that feature historic buildings, monuments, parks and events significant to all townships across the shire.

The project brought almost 2,000 people together from all over Cardinia Shire to contribute towards this unique public artwork that honours local heritage. Techniques used to create the embroidery include cross-stitch, appliqué, blackwork, canvas work, free machine embroidery, fabric painting, hand embroidery and computerised machine embroidery.

The project was funded by Vic Health and Cardinia Shire Council.

The below documentary was created to celebrate The Cardinian Embroidery project.
